Interpreting Narayana Dasa

reference:  Narayana Dasa, by Sanjay Rath.

A  Deha and Jeeva

1)  The Deha is the physical body of the person.  The dasa sign itself is Deha.  Narayan dasas begin from Lagna and their succession represents the movement of the Lagna.  (If Narayan dasa begins from 7thH, the results should be observed in the 7th from dasa rasi.  Although the first dasa is of the 7th H, the results of Lagna will obtain, and so on through successive dasas.)  In the Deha we see the physical whereabouts and activities of the native.

The naisargika Deha karaka is the Sun.  So to understand the health and success of physical activities of the native, examine the dasa rasi from the Sun.  To understand the outlook and intelligence in the dasa period, examine the dasa rasi from the Lagna.  To understand the spiritual purpose and direction in the dasa period, examine the dasa rasi from the chara atmakaraka.

2)   Count the signs from Lagna to Deha, or dasa rasi.   Count the same number of signs from Deha to find the Jeeva.  The Jeeva Rasi shows how we meet the world.

The naisargika Jeeva karaka is Jupiter.  So to understand the results of our life energy as put forth in the Deha rasi we examine the Jeeva rasi and see its placement from Jupiter.

3)  If malefics conjoin Deha alone, diseases occur; if they are in Jeeva alone, misfortunes occur and the life loses direction or meaning.  If they join both extreme difficulties can erupt.

If benefics conjoin Deha alone, health is good; if in Jeeva alone, prosperity and happiness ensue.  If they join both great good fortune can come.

For mixed influences, predict mixed results.

B  Paka and Bhoga

1)    The effects of the dasa rasi should  be judged from the lord of the rasi, which is its active intelligence.  The sign occupied by the lord of dasa rasi is the Paka rasi, or ripener of the dasa.  If Paka rasi is in a Kendra or trikona from the natal Lagna auspicious results are found.

2)  The arudha of the dasa rasi is the Bhoga rasi, or place of fruit, referring to the benefits that accrue from the dasa.  If Bhoga rasi is in a Kendra or trikona from Arudha Lagna, auspicious results obtain.
